Milly Smith, Workshop participant "An excellent experience run by truly inspiring artists and workshop leaders. “I enjoyed it more than I ever thought I would and it really opened my eyes to a lot of things. The whole day has really inspired me with thoughts about what to do after uni as well as my current practice.” Jo Addison, Course Leader BA Fine Art, Kingston School of Art. The combination of inquisitiveness, empathy and independence has benefited our learning culture enormously.”

Unstoppably enthusiastic, yet measured and reflective, with a precise and informed approach, brilliant clarity of language and confidence to interpret the needs and aspirations of our students. Leap Then Look encouraged the children to go in any direction they chose, opening up different avenues and possibilities to them to explore what art can be. ”ĭr Sara Bragg, Senior Teaching Fellow, Institute of Education “A real pleasure to work alongside. The Summer School has been the antithesis to art lessons at school which can be over controlled and outcome focused. “A very BIG thank you for your contribution to Summer School this year, which was nothing short of brilliant. It was experiential, playful and highly reflective and delivered with considered care and sensitivity an exceptional week and enjoyed by teachers and us alike!”Īlice Walton, Convenor Schools and Teachers Programme, Tate Modern & Tate Britain “You have totally opened my daughter's mind up to new ways of working and thinking about art. Since then we have run participatory projects at institutions including Tate, Royal Academy, Phoenix Art Space, Orleans House Gallery, Photoworks, Brighton Photo Fringe, Thomas Tallis School, West Rise School, Hemmingway Design Events, and Universities of Brighton, Kingston, Westminster and UCL Institute of Education. We are currently undertaking research at the Universities of Westminster and Kingston and have been supported by Artist Newsletter and Arts Council England. Leap Then Look was established in Spring 2019 by artists Lucy Cran and Bill Leslie.

Our focus is on working together, inspiring playfulness, inquisitiveness and experimentation. We use exciting and unconventional approaches, including object making, performance, installation, film, and photography, enabling our participants to engage in multiple processes, creating their own work. We believe that contemporary art practice should and can be made available and accessible to everyone and that we can all benefit from engaging with new ways of looking, making and thinking.

Leap Then Look create art works, participatory projects, workshops and events for people of all ages and abilities.
